Missouri Registration Levels and Requirements
Section 589.414 sets Missouri's tier structure and reporting frequency. Tier assignment depends on the qualifying offense and statutory rules applied by the registering official. The current framework on July 30, 2026 gives Tier I a 15-year term, Tier II a 25-year term, and Tier III generally a lifetime term. Reaching a date does not itself remove a person from the registry. Missouri uses a petition process, with eligibility and clean-record conditions that must be met.
