Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to respond and manage the exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, standard server and analytics systems can receive technical details about the visit:
- Page-view times and the pages opened
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Visit duration and navigation activity
- A referring website, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to support traffic measurement and show, in aggregate, how visitors move through the site. Analytics providers help process that information. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a submitted query to the selected search partner
- Maintaining site availability, speed, and operation
- Finding and repairing errors or security problems
- Measuring which material visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hickory County Criminal History does not maintain, combine, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Hickory County Sheriff, Missouri Circuit Court, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Official access remains governed by the Missouri Sunshine Law in Chapter 610 and repository dissemination rules in section 43.506 RSMo. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the selected partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and disclosure practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff, court, state agency, legal-aid, or outside search websites. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read them before providing personal details.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query submitted to them
- Advertising networks placing ads on site pages
- A government body or law-enforcement agency acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so absolute protection against unauthorized access cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Data identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when properly brought to our attention.
Your Data Rights
Missouri consumer-protection law, including the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act in Chapter 407, may provide rights that depend on the facts and a person's residence. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Request deletion of personal data where applicable
- Ask what personal information we hold about that visitor
- Request correction of inaccurate personal details
- Object to certain processing where the law supplies that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will appear here with a new effective date, and continued use will be subject to the posted policy.
